I'm very blessed to be able to escape Michigan's frigid winters for a few weeks each year, and every morning I'm in Florida, I take a nice long walk on the beach. One morning that was cloudy but warm, my companion and I noticed that most of the people we passed were scowling as they hurried along the water's edge; apparently, they were grumpy because the sun wasn't shining. It was a great reminder that things could always be worse, and that gratitude for all the good that can be found in one's presents circumstances is the key to happiness.
